I contacted Marissa following a destabilising break-up while I was travelling South East Asia. I had left my job to travel, and so, raw from the break-up, without a job, and on the other side of the world from any support network, feeling like I had lost all stability in my life, I sought out Marissa to start my inner work journey. I had a choice at that point - to return to my old patterns to get over my pain and distract myself away from things, or face it head on to actually work through it for the first time in my life. I would say I met Marissa by pure circumstance but I don’t believe that to be the case. After beautiful conversations I had the chance to work with her, and we dove deep. As someone who has an affinity for psychology, the human condition, self improvement and spirituality, I am no stranger to vulnerability and reflection, but I also tend to be skeptical. I’ve worked with a therapist for years but I have never experienced what I did with Marissa. It is easy to be closed off to certain practices, especially in the world of spirituality because there are many people who are not reputable, but I would recommend going into any session with your guard down completely if you want to make the most out of it.
